Vacation Bible School 2005

This year’s Community Vacation Bible School was a blast. Final enrollment for the week was 20 students, ages 2-12, and 18 teachers/helpers. The Youth were in charge of the kitchen this year, making treats for snack time that ranged from Rahab’s ropes (red licorice) to Elijah’s cheesy chariots (“chariots” created with snack crackers and Easy Cheese). They seemed to have as much fun making the snacks as the rest of us had eating them! All snacks related to the day’s Bible story.

The students began the day cheering each other on (complete with pom poms) to be Brave Believers in the Race of Faith Stadium (main auditorium). The Coach told the Bible story for the day, and then the children separated into classes with their Personal Trainers, for more intense study and activities that included Crafts, Music, Snacks and Recreation.

A fun time was had by all. Each individual class sang their favorite song from the week for the gathered parents and friends at Friday’s closing service. The Youth treated everyone to a very moving “human video” of the song, “I Can Only Imagine”. What a great week. Today’s VBS participants will be tomorrow’s Brave Believers. Thank you to each person, student, and parent who had a part in this year’s VBS.

There are many pictures. In order to display them without waiting for a large group to load, the pictures are presented on several pages in thumbnails.  Please view and click on the pictures you would like to see larger.
